The Democracy Lab was founded by
Andrea S. McAuslan in response to her many years
of experience in social work, politics and
education. The Democracy Lab functions with the
belief that all segments of society are capable of
much greater achievements in our democracy, and
that if we practice our precious rights and
responsibilities we will create a more just,
tranquil, safe, healthy and free society.
The Lab provides services,
information and consultation for the purpose of
enhancing participatory democracy, that is:
empowering people to make their own decisions,
resolve problems, develop and implement solutions
and participate in our system of self governance
on the individual, group, community and societal
levels.
The work may include but is
not limited to the full spectrum of education and
social work approaches and use of the various
technologies and media. While Andrea takes the
rights and responsibilities of citizens very
seriously, she believes that it is okay, and even
important, to have fun and be active in the
process of learning whatever each person is
pursuing.
Whether you are looking for
basic information, such as how to contact your
governor, or want to work on solving a very
difficult community issue, The Democracy Lab is
here to help. Please contact us with any
questions, comments or concerns you may have.
